Four children, a relationship that has lasted almost 25 years. He is touring the theaters of Italy with a monologue, Five Women of the South, which highlights his comic verve, and with other shows alongside colleagues such as Michele La Ginestra, Enzo Casertano and Gianni Ferreri. Presenter on Tv2000 of Che boils in the pot, she was known by the general television audience for her role as Melina in Un medico in famiglia. Beatrice Fazi, 52 years old, however, is In search of a new heart, as she presents herself on her online page, borrowing the title of her book which has continued to be republished for nine years.
Mom, wife, successful actress. But why this title?
«It is the passage from Ezekiel, when God says “I will give you a new heart, I will put a new spirit within you, I will make you observe my precepts”. At the beginning of my conversion I was almost afraid that God would ask me something in return, a God who is a judge. Ezekiel made me understand that to be truly Christian we must not force ourselves to do who knows what, but ask that the Spirit act within us. I am still asking incessantly for him to give me this new heart, the most difficult thing in life is to truly love.”
You are a sort of testimonial of the family. What are the traps to avoid and the things to consolidate in a couple relationship?
«The number one trap is the silence of husbands. My husband has a black belt in silence, it’s the worst way to punish me. They are the things left unsaid, the inability to show ourselves as fragile and in need of the other. And remaining attached to the roles that come to you from your families of origin. As much as I want to be an emancipated woman, I carry within me that way of thinking that I am obliged to be perfect at home, to be able to keep everything under control, not to delegate, in short, little flexibility. My husband was decisive, because he really got involved, he learned to cook, to do the shopping. And I learned to give up. Now there is true collaboration, sharing, intimacy.”
