If you run out of battery, know that there is a solution at hand…
Modern cars open automatically with a battery key. This centralized opening is very practical since the doors open automatically as soon as you approach the vehicle. No more searching for keys in your handbag, especially when you’re loaded with shopping or in a hurry. The bonus: the doors also close instantly when you move too far from the car and forget to close the doors. But what happens if the car key no longer works?
Indeed, by the time it takes to change the batteries, you quickly find yourself helpless without the possibility of using your car. So, if you are parked far from home and you cannot get back your spare keys (or you have not made a spare), know that there is a solution at your fingertips, which too few people know about. On his Tiktok account @iEmna published a video on this subject to explain the trick to his subscribers.
By lightly pressing the right button of the key and at the same time pulling the top upwards, you release a key that allows you to manually open the driver’s side door. Depending on the type of vehicle, the emergency key can be stored differently (access varies from one model to another), but all recent cars have this same system. All you have to do is insert this emergency key into the lock, on the driver’s side, to unlock the door. Note that on certain vehicles, the lock is discreet, behind a small box that you will have to lift.
But the question that everyone asks is: “how to start your car if the battery is not working?”. Again, no need to panic! Refer to the vehicle’s owner’s manual for the correct procedure. Depending on the model, it is possible to recharge the key by induction either on the central console or on the steering column. By holding the key near the start button, you will be able to hear the engine and drive again. If this is not yet the case, consider making a duplicate key which could also help if necessary.
