Patricia Kaas went through an extremely traumatic experience: the 58-year-old singer had to deal with an unbalanced fan. The artist was forever marked by this affair which ended badly…
Patricia Kaas, who takes on the role of coach for the new season of The Voice which will be broadcast in a few weeks on TF1, has experienced ups and downs during his career. In the 90s, she notably faced an unbalanced fan who harassed her for months. A traumatic experience that she returned to a few years ago on the show We are not in bed.
Patricia Kaas, harassed by a “crazy”: “It makes you stronger”
With notoriety, the 58-year-old singer was unfortunately confronted with the madness of certain unbalanced fans, like a man who had deeply shocked her in the early 1990s. He had tried to introduce himself at her home the first time, then was arrested by the police. But this arrest did not calm his passion, since he then kidnapped an assistant from Patricia Kaas’ team… and was killed during a police arrest.
“In any case, it makes you stronger when you start a career and suddenly there’s a madman behind you“, put Patricia Kaas into perspective in 2016 on the set of We are not in bed. But for years, the interpreter of My boyfriend lived with the trauma of this affair. She was never really serene in the presence of admirers.
“I said to myself: ‘It’s time!'”: This day when Patricia Kaas feared the worst
“It wasn’t just him. We often receive fan letters, love letters… One day, I received a letter from a woman who told me that her husband adored me, but that he had asked for an autograph which he never received, I don’t know where he sent his request anyway“, she said. This simple confusion was enough to make her fear reprisals.
A slightly abrupt movement on the part of a fan could be enough to paralyze her, especially in front of a crowd: “There was a package that ended up in the crowd at a concert, and at one point, when I was singing ‘He tells me that I’m beautiful’, I saw a man get up and come towards me, I I said: ‘That’s it, now is the time‘”.
“The slightest gesture, even when a kind fan brought me a rose, when I saw him a little trembling or emotional, it scared me a little“, she also confided in the show Tea or Coffee. Today, the new coach of The Voice – alongside Florent Pagny, Zaz and Vianney – has managed to put the past behind her, but she still remains on her guard…
