There are several ways to create a warm atmosphere in our interiors and this one often goes to the hatch when it is super effective.
In the heart of winter, it is not uncommon to find our cold interiors and want to instill heat. For that, all means are good, starting with a palette of warm colors, natural materials, without forgetting a comforting decoration and arrangement.
Forgotten cold tones, like white, gray or blue. In monochrome at least, they can give a feeling of freshness, especially if they are not balanced by warmer colors, such as beige, terracotta, ocher or a powdered pink for example. In terms of textiles, it is better to bet on curtains, carpets, cushions and plaids, capable of bringing visual and acoustic comfort. Without them, a space will appear always more naked and cold.
As for the materials, you can of course adopt marble, metal and glass by touches, but keep in mind that wood will always bring a warm feeling welcome, whatever the essence. Also, minimalist furniture, with very straight lines and without roughness, will often lack conviviality. Likewise, if the space is too empty, the atmosphere will seem impersonal. So, assume your tastes with beautiful vintage pieces or inherited from your elders, they will give cachet and personality to your room, in addition to reheating the atmosphere.
Ditto for decoration. A lack of personalization, with too standard a style, without personal objects, books, souvenirs or works of art, will certainly give an impression of a witness or hotel, soulless. And that, the warm interiors don’t want it! Finally, the absence of greenery is prejudicial as the interior plants provide heat, sweetness and life more simply to an interior. Without them, a space will be more austere.
Besides these good ideas, there is another key point that we do not think enough: lighting. Few people think about it when it makes all the difference. Whether it is too white or insufficient, it puts the mood for your home in danger, especially when it is gray like this month. Too white light creates a clinical atmosphere. Unique and poorly distributed lighting (without extra lamps, garlands or sconces) can also give a very warm sensation. We therefore advise you to swap your bulbs for models that diffuse a warmer white.
And who says warm lighting, says hot white LED bulbs, between 2,200k and 3000k, with a preference for filament or dimmable models that allow the intensity to be adjusted. It is also important to multiply light sources by combining extra lamps, wall lights and LED garlands (2200K). Also avoid too powerful bulbs and cold lights beyond 4000k. Last but not least, for a softer diffusion, choose lampshades in fabric, paper or frosted glass, you promote indirect rather than frontal lighting. May the warm light be!
