Two appointments for sustainability
Sunday 16 February, on the occasion of the National day of energy saving and sustainable lifestylesAllianz will participate for the eighth consecutive year a M’illumino lessturning off the lights and signs of the Allianz tower in Milan. The highest skyscraper in Italy by number of floors will thus become a visible symbol of the awareness message promoted by the initiative.
Saturday 22 March, however, Allianz will take part in Earth Hour-hour of the earththe world event that since 2009 promotes the commitment against climate change. For the occasion, in addition to the Allianz Tower in Milan, the lights of the Trieste headquarters will also be off. But not only: globally, the Allianz group will involve its 157,000 employees, inviting them to turn off at least a light bulb in its homes, thus contributing to the reduction of energy consumption. Even the Allianz Arena in Monaco, one of the most iconic stadiums in the world, will participate by extinguishing its lights for 60 minutes.
A concrete commitment for the future

This membership is part of the new global campaign of Allianz Power of Unitywhich aims to counter the growing social polarization and to strengthen the sense of community, favoring dialogue and collective trust.
Torre Allianz: a symbol of sustainability
The shutdown of the lights are not only a symbolic action: Allianz continues to invest in concrete initiatives to reduce his environmental impact. The Allianz tower is certified Leed Platinum – Commercial Interiorsthanks to the adoption of advanced solutions for energy efficiency, including:
- Use of 100% renewable electricitycoming from hydroelectric sources;
- Integrated photovoltaic panels and district heating to optimize consumption;
- Automated management of lighting and air conditioningwith sensors that reduce waste;
- Parking for bicycles and charging columns for electric carsto encourage sustainable mobility between employees.
ESG and a zero emission future
Allianz has included sustainability at the center of his company strategy, aiming to reach net emissions equal to zero In its operational activities by 2030 and in the investment and insurance portfolios by 2050. Since 2023, the group has accelerated the purchase of 100% green electricity and is gradually converting its company fleet into electric vehicles.
The commitment to biodiversity: the oasis San Felice
In addition to energy initiatives, Allianz supports the protection of biodiversity through theOasi San Felicea 50 -hectare coastal area in Marina di Grosseto affiliated to WWF Italia. Here, the company promotes conservation activities and organizes free educational visits for schools, with the aim of educating the new generations on the importance of environmental protection.
