If you hold your business and vacation, it is better to think twice before choosing the color of your suitcase. Some colors could transform your stay into a nightmare.
The moment of truth at the airport? The treadmill. This scene that everyone knows: the passengers, glued to the carousel, their eyes riveted on the opening from which the luggage tumbles, one by one. The attention is to its height, especially when the fatigue of the flight is added to the concern of not finding its suitcase. And there, a detail can make all the difference: the color of your luggage.
Some suitcases are similar like two drops of water. Result, errors are frequent. A passenger catches that of the neighbor, convinced that it is his. And you are planted in front of the empty carpet, hoping that your baggage has not been taken from another traveler. But the problem does not stop there. In case of loss, identification becomes a headache. This is confirmed by Stefan Schulte, director of Frankfurt Airport, explaining that his staff had more and more difficult to spot similar suitcases: “Many people are traveling with black suitcases on wheels, which makes their identification very time -consuming.”
Moreover, Frankfurt Airport is not an isolated case. At each period of great departures such as the summer period, the luggage sorting centers are crumbling under a flood of suitcases … which all look alike. In this uniform mass, sorting errors, involuntary exchanges or temporary losses are common. And it is often the same types of luggage that are problematic.
A report of theEconomic Time came to sink the nail by observing that black bags would be the most frequently lost in airports, all categories combined. Not that they are less well treated than the others, but they blend into the mass. And when a passenger forgets to add a distinctive sign – a colorful label, a sticker, a ribbon -, the situation is complicated.
This is what Ryanair recommends in his advice to travelers. The company low cost said it without detour: “Facilitate the location of your luggage recorded on the carousel, especially if your luggage is black, navy or gray blue.” She invites her customers to add a visual touch to their luggage to avoid confusion on arrival. Think about it!
