What if the booklet A was more beautiful than it seems? If the savers have turned away from their favorite savings book in March (with a collection of only 400 million euros, the lowest since March 2016), its yield remains a boon for savers in search of security. With its 2.4%, the booklet has indeed remunerated well above inflation measured at 0.8% in March and April.
Unfortunately, an increasing proportion of savers can no longer use his favorite booklet as he pleases. According to the latest report from the Banque de France on regulated savings, the proportion of booklets exceeding the ceiling reached almost 13% at the end of 2023. The latter was indeed not noted since January 1, 2013, when it had increased from 19,125 euros to 22,950 euros. “Since the fixing of this ceiling in 2013, the proportion of accounts whose outstandings exceeds 22,950 euros has continued to increase”notes the Banque de France.
With the LDDS, you can bring your total ceiling to 34,950 euros
For the savers concerned, it is impossible to pay the slightest additional euro on their booklet A. But there is a parade: the sustainable and solidarity development booklet (LDDS). By opening this other savings product, you have an additional ceiling of 12,000 euroswhile benefiting from the characteristics identical to those of your booklet A: 100%capital guarantee, possible withdrawals at any time, exempt interest, same conditions in all banks, etc.
In addition, LDDS and booklet has displayed an always identical yield, or 2.4% since February 1. This alternative thus allows holders who arrived on the ceiling to increase their risk -free savings by more than 50%, to bring it to 34,950 eurosand with identical conditions and remuneration. The key, with the current yield in force until August 1, of monthly interests of 69.9 euros, against 45.9 euros with the only booklet A on the ceiling. The savers do not fail to think of this second piggy bank: the LDDS has indeed done better than booklet A in March, with a collection of 610 million euros.
