Receive alerts Scams
Not a scam, but a friendly reminder. If you have not yet declared your 2024 income, the countdown is launched and the taxman is responsible for reporting to you that the clock turns. The Directorate General of Public Finance (DGFIP) has, since May 16, proceeded to a vast communication campaign with taxpayers who have still not freed themselves from their reporting obligations in 2025. Also, if you have not done the necessary and your contact details are up to date, you have probably received an SMS between Friday 16 and Sunday 18, or an email addressed by the taxman on Friday and Saturday.
And for this first reminder, the DGFIP did not skimp on shipments: “In accordance with the forecast calendar of ‘Mass Mails’, the first reminder messages of the declarative deadline were sent from May 16, for around 2 million emails and 8 million SMS”figure with Capital The Directorate General for Public Finances. If you have been assailed by doubt by receiving this communication, do not panic, therefore: “This sms is us”reassures the taxman. And the phone number indicated – 0809 401 401 – is none other than that of the tax information service, to be attached in the event of a problem or a question.
Two weeks before the last deadline for your declaration
What to do, then, if you have been contacted? The answer is simple: declare your income online as soon as possible on the impots.gouv.fr site. Except, of course, if you have put yourself in good standing in the meantime. “Address/numbers who were made on May 14 in the morning, it is possible that there are” wrongly “” reminderswarns the DGFIP. In other words, your declaration has been taken into account and you can breathe. Otherwise, don’t waste any more time: the limits are imminent. As of Tuesday, May 20 for declarations in paper format, then Thursday May 22 on the Internet for zone 1 (departments 1 to 19), Wednesday May 28 for zone 2 (departments 20 to 54) and finally Thursday June 5 for zone 3 (departments 55 to 974-976).
As a reminder, any delay in declaration causes the granting of a penalty up to 10% of the amount of the tax due. A fine that can climb to 40% if you do not act within 30 days of the recovery of the taxman, not to mention the delay interests that will increase your invoice unnecessarily.
