What are the subjects of the written French test in 2025?
The official subjects of the written test of French were made public. In general seriesthe candidates worked, for the commentary, on the theme “The novel and the story from the Middle Ages to the 21st century”, from an extract from Chapter 1 of Bewitched by Jules Barbey d’Aurevilly, published in 1854.
Dissertation subjects carried on the object of study “The theater from the 17th century to the 21st century”:

The commentary was based on the object of study “The poetry from the 19th century to the 21st century”, with a poem by Richard Rognet extracted from Elegies for the time of livingpublished in 2012. For text contraction and essay, the object of study was the “literature of ideas from the 16th to the 18th century”. Three subjects were offered:
- Subject A. The first focused on Gargantua de Rabelais (chapters XXIV), with a text by Martine Fournier “Learn throughout life” (Educate and train2016), and a question of test: “Does a good education lead to learning throughout his life?”.
- Subject B. The second subject was based on The characters of the heathercrossed with an article by Jean-François Dorier “Empathy and benevolence” (Human sciences2017) and asked the following question: “To paint men well, should we consider them with empathy?”.
- Subject C. The third proposed an extract from the DBreakdown of the rights of women and citizens From Olympe de Gouges, associated with a speech by Françoise Nyssen pronounced during the ministerial committee on gender equality in the sectors of culture and communication (February 7, 2018), and asked candidates to reflect on this question: “Can literature and culture show the way to fight inequalities?”.
What is the date of French oral for first students?
High school students will pass French oral between June 23 and July 4, 2025at specific hours, according to the summons received.
The oral French test for the general and technological baccalaureate consists of two parts with, beforehand, a preparation time lasting 30 minutes. During the first part of the event (12 minutes), the student prepares the text chosen by the examiner and proposes A reading aloud, Then offers a linear explanation of a passage of around twenty lines. He will also have to respond to a grammar question relating to the chosen text. During the second part of the oral French event, the student is invited to present the work he chose from those that have been studied in class (over a duration 8 minutes).
