And the one who remarried the love of her life, Murielle, in September 2023, is not ready to hang up! He is currently on tour throughout France, and he will be until the end of the year with a hook by the Dome of Paris on November 9. But don’t go see any gain in it! “I did that all my life (…) I continue, it’s not for the money I sing, it’s for fun”he told journalists who came to see him on stage. 66 years after the release of his first album, Hugues Aufray still has the same passion. And it occurs without a promptr! The strong point of this “Extraordinary forgotten of time” : it brings together all generations. “Folklore is music that has no age”he explained. “It is not a matter of fashion. The transmission between generations, it is more natural (…) it keeps a very strong character which is very easily transmitted from one generation to another”.
Unlike Michel Sardou or Sylvie Vartan, this father of two children, grandfather of five grandchildren and great-grandfather of two young girls has not stopped giving voice since the 1950s and does not want to say goodbye to the scene. Only his body only chooses to stop.
