Welcome to the 12th arrondissement of Paris. It was on the third and last floor of this second courtyard building that architect Rémy Bardin and his amazing team took action. At the request of a couple living overseas who had returned to mainland France, they redesigned their pied-à-terre to perfection. As it was, the apartment had been renovated a few years ago as a 90s studio for their daughter, who still lives there. Rather functional, the kitchen was nevertheless looking dull, the coconut on the floor no longer enchanted them, neither did the 140 cm bed, access to the mezzanine lacked practicality and it was not secure. It was therefore necessary to maximize each function to find more fluidity.
Sublimate the existing with taste and ingenuity
On the construction program? Create a more modern and trendy kitchen, in the same place as the previous one, arrange a dining room capable of accommodating up to six guests easily, install an aerial staircase too. All while maintaining spaces that communicate with each other, “like in a boat after all!”enthuses Rémy Bardin. The addition of custom-made MDF fittings to be painted makes it possible to store everything that needs to be stored and the filters, such as the glass roof between the kitchen and living room or the library on the mezzanine side, complete this 40 m² with its inimitable style. Shall we show you around?
