Passed from shadow to light, this tiny piece of water was just waiting to be reviewed and corrected by the care of Atelier Ceben. It’s day and night, literally!
It is in the heart of the 13th arrondissement that Atelier Ceben has transformed this small 15 m² space, which has remained frozen in the past for far too long. In order to make this limited volume a functional and welcoming cocoon, every detail has been boldly redesigned. Thanks to personalized fittings and careful decoration, the space is now perfectly exploited, offering a warm interior where you enjoy returning once the work is finished.
Before the work, the small pond in the studio shone with its bareness. In addition to a rudimentary hand basin, it had an atypical configuration to say the least: the shower area and the toilets were one. In this pocket square, the tenant had to lower the toilet bowl to be able to activate the shower head just above it. This total lack of layout was also reflected in the aesthetics of the place: between the bare walls and the Spartan equipment, the decoration was absent.
Faced with this very cramped surface area, it was necessary to demonstrate great ingenuity to integrate each piece of equipment without sacrificing the fluidity of passage. To meet this challenge, the Ceben workshop favored a strategic location: the vanity unit was slid into a corner, a trick allowing you to free up the centimeters essential for installing a wall-hung toilet. The choice of equipment focused on elements specifically sized for limited volumes – such as the shower door (Leroy Merlin), the towel dryer (ManoMano) or the vanity unit (Castorama). These compact solutions prove that a small space can offer comfort and aesthetics that have absolutely nothing to envy of larger bathrooms.
On the decoration side, the choice fell on accessories with soft, rounded lines, contrasted by the strength of the black metal. We find this characterful finish on the mirror frame, but also on all the taps and the shower door profiles. This rigorous selection is not a coincidence: it acts as a decorative thread, echoing the industrial touches already asserted in the main room of the studio.
A visual reminder which unifies the entire apartment while infusing a resolutely modern and assertive style into this small bathroom which therefore has all the makings of a large one.
