When Ruth and her husband Tod buy this old building in Glasgow in Scotland, they are far from imagining what awaits them in the attic.
Buying a house sometimes has surprises in stores … and not only in terms of work to be expected! This couple and their animals have had the strange experience after moving into their new home. By exploring their freshly acquired home, they discovered a play whose existence had never been revealed to them.
It all starts when they buy this old Victorian villa from 1860. At first glance, nothing unusual: the home is spacious, the spaces need to be renovated, of course, but it seems to correspond in all respects to their needs. However, by examining the premises more carefully, a question arises: what does this hatch lead to the attic contained?
“When we visited the house before buying it, we inquired about the condition of the attic, because we wondered if there would one day be place to arrange them and enlarge the house”Ruth told American magazine Newsweek. “Our real estate agent told us that it was not worth visiting, since it was only a storage space.” Intrigued, they nevertheless decide to inspect the attic and discover two children’s rooms, old and dilapidated, as frozen in the past, but very well preserved, with wallpaper, cupboards and even an electric train!
“It’s like going back in time, but fortunately, there were no ghosts up there, thank God!”exclaims Ruth, relieved to have found no sign of paranormal presence. And as if the villa was not already large enough like that, these attic, despite a fairly low ceiling, represent a beautiful additional storage space, on which the couple does not spit.
This story recalls that some houses are full of well -kept secrets. Wall caches, condemned pieces, stolen passages … The old buildings sometimes have stories to tell. What if the house you live in also hid a mystery?
