Lucia is 82 years old and became a widow after dedicating twenty years to caring for her husband in a wheelchair. Today he lives with severe elephantiasis and heart problems. He lives with his two children, both of whom have health conditions that prevent them from working.
The daughter’s situation is particularly delicate: she was left disabled after uterine cancer which forced her to undergo a hysterectomy. Q
This family carries on its shoulders a weight of suffering accumulated over the years, without respite. Added to all this is a condition of profound poverty, which unfortunately not even the aid of the parish can fill anymore.
