No longer up to date and even less up to date with its new owners, this bedroom has changed a lot. The worst is behind her.
A specialist in tailor-made renovation, Renovation Man supported this Nantes family in the transformation of their new home. The result? A bright, functional and resolutely contemporary house, with, as icing on the cake, a nicely furnished attic. With the arrival of their second child, the couple chose to leave their apartment to invest in a house that remained in its original state, but full of potential.
With the help of works expert Sara Riou, they embarked on a complete renovation, which lasted 3 months and cost 100,000 euros for 150 m² (including 10,000 dedicated to attic insulation and subject to aid). From the ground floor to the attic, this is a perfect visit to stock up on inspiration! Starting with the parents’ bedroom, located upstairs. It was a ruined space, where time seemed to have stopped, which set the tone of this abandoned level. The room was decorated with sky blue wallpaper, decorated with a classic patterned frieze. This very deteriorated covering was crumbling in entire sections, revealing the plaster and suggesting old humidity problems at the bottom of the walls. At the back, a small-paned window with a white frame brought in still timid natural light, highlighted by a decrepit curtain rod.
What a change! The state of the room before the work is quickly forgotten when we discover this room which exudes serenity and modernity. The transformation work is flawless which proves that color and natural materials are the best allies for a successful renovation. Laminated parquet flooring, pastel orange walls, floral bed linen, immaculate sheer curtains, chest of drawers and pendant lights in natural fibers… All the ingredients come together to create a cozy master bedroom.
It’s a 10/10 for this renovation. The choice of coloring only one section of the wall allows you to add character without shrinking the room. An inspiration to copy without moderation for those who do not yet dare to take the plunge into color!
