Diot Saci, AXA, Malakoff Humanis… In recent weeks, a number of organizations have released their survey, study or survey on absenteeism at work. This worrying theme, which targets all ages and social categories, testifies to the persistence of a new relationship with work, a continuous quest for meaning and the search for a greater balance between professional and private lives. This, even though the requirements and operating methods of companies have hardly changed. With 42% of employees on sick leave at least once in 2023, absenteeism tends to decline and return to its pre-Covid level, according to the ninth edition of the Malakoff Humanis Barometer.
Affecting more women, young people and managers, it is particularly prevalent in the health (52%) and industry (45%) sectors, as well as within companies with fewer than ten employees who see progress – between 2021 and 2023 – by more than ten points, unlike organizations with at least 1,000 employees which show a drop of 16 points over the same period, points out the barometer.
