What does Asi mean?

ASI is the acronym for additional invalidity allocation. This social minimum is paid every month by social security or MSA to disabled people with low incomes. It thus guarantees them a minimum of resources. Its amount varies according to the family situation of the beneficiary.

Who has the right to additional disability allowance?

ASI is a financial aid reserved for Modest Invalids. It comes in addition to another compensation to increase the beneficiary’s resources. Namely:

What are the conditions to be fulfilled to benefit from the ASI?

The payment of the additional invalidity allowance is subject to conditions of disability, residence and resources.

Condition linked to the payment of the solidarity allowance to the elderly (ASPA)

There is no minimum age to perceive the ASI. On the other hand, it is no longer possible to perceive it as soon as the social insured reaches the minimum age required to receive the solidarity allowance for the elderly (ASPA), that is to say 65 years. The beneficiary is informed four months before the end of the payment of the ASI.

Disability condition

ASI granting is also made according to the level of disability of the person. The beneficiary must be reached by general disability reducing his work capacity (or gain) of 2/3.

Residence

The social insured must reside regularly in Francestable or in one of these overseas departments: Guadeloupe, Guyana, Martinique, Réunion, Saint-Barthélemy and Saint-Martin. The duration of the residence must be greater than six monthsor at 180 days, during the year during which the service is paid.

Income condition

The income of the couple or the single person must not exceed a certain monthly ceiling. The latter is revalued each year the April 1. The resource ceiling is examined up to three months preceding the request.

If the resources exceed this ceiling during this time, they are examined on 12 months preceding the effective date. It is therefore possible to perceive the ASI if the resource ceiling has not been crossed during the previous 12 months.

What is the resource ceiling not to be exceeded to touch the ASI in 2025 and 2026?

Maximum income for a couple

Until April 1, 2026, the couple’s income must not exceed 1,530.60 euros per montheither 18,367.2 euros per year.

Maximum income for a single person

As of April 1, 2024, for a single person, income must not exceed 914.85 euros per montheither 10,978.2 euros per year.

What are the income taken into account in the calculation of income?

Old age and disability advantages

To estimate the applicant’s resources, the administration takes into account all old age and disability benefits. Namely:

NotedA: The alimony, the amount of which is fixed by a judicial decision also comes into account.

Professional income

All of the professional income received are also taken into account. The latter are reduced to a lump sum re -evaluated each year:

  • 2,702.70 euros for a couple And 1,621.62 euros for a single person On income of the last three months
  • 10,810.80 euros for a couple And 6,486.48 euros for a single person On income from the last 12 months

Revenues of real estate

Revenues from real estate (at 3% of their market value fixed on the date of demand) and investments as well as donations granted in the past ten years are also retained.

Income not taken into account

Conversely, the value of the main residence, buildings of the farm, family services, financial aid paid by a loved one and the RSA are not taken into account.

What is the amount of the additional disability allowance 2025?

The amount of the additional invalidity allowance varies depending on the applicant’s resources and cannot exceed a ceiling.

Maximum amount of the ASI 2025

Since April 1, 2025, the maximum amount of the ASI is 579.56 euros per month.

Amount of additional disability allowance for a couple

Since April 1, 2025, the total amount of the ASI per month when a single person of the couple the key corresponds to the difference between 914.85 euros and the amount of the couple’s income per month.

When the two people of the couple receive it, the amount of the ASI is equal to the difference between 1,530.60 euros and the amount of income per month of the couple. Each person of the couple receives half of the amount of the ASI thus calculated.

Amount of the ASI for a single person

For people living alone, the amount of the ASI per month is the difference between 914.85 euros and the amount of income received.

Revaluation of the ASI each year in April

The amounts of the additional invalidity allowance and the resource ceilings provided for its allocation are revalued on April 1 of each year.

How to apply for Asi?

Fill out the CERFA form n ° 11175*05 for the holder of a disability pension

The procedures differ, depending on whether the applicant affects a invalidity, early retirement or reversion pension. The holder of a disability pension must make his request to the National Health Insurance Fund (CNAM) and fill out the CERFA form n ° 11175*05.

Fill out the CERFA form n ° 13679*02 for the holder of a retirement pension

For the holder of an early retirement pension or survivor, the request is made to the National Old Age Insurance Fund, via the CERFA form n ° 13679*02.

Date of allowance of the allowance

The allowance is paid from the first day of the month following the date of receipt of the request. Its payment is interrupted in one of the following two cases:

  • The beneficiary goes to live outside France
  • The beneficiary reaches the age required to benefit from ASPA

ASI: Taxation and succession

The ASI escapes the CSG and the reimbursement of social debt (CRDS). It is not subject to income tax. The administration could recover the sums paid under the ASI after the death of the beneficiary if the net assets of his succession exceeded a certain amount. Since January 1, 2020, this has not been the case. This applies to both the sums paid before January 1, 2020 and since.
