L’AI has established itself in the daily financial lives of the French more quickly than expected. In addition to help with tax declaration, according to the savings and investment barometer published by the AMF in June 2026, 11% of savers now consult an AI before making an investment, a share which climbs to 19% among those under 35 and 33% among holders of crypto-assets. Martin Pavanello, co-founder of the Mister IA training firm, observes the same shift. “Before, for a little piloting, understanding or simulation, we went to see a CGP and it was expensive. Now it becomes accessible to everyone”he summarizes. The Pocket Advisor has a near-zero entry price.

What AI absorbs best are low-cost tasks added value which structured part of the professionals’ bill. Users use it first to understand a financial product, in 52% cases, and to dissect the costsTHE risk and the yieldin 51% of cases, according to the AMF. ” THE intermediaries like CGPs or accountants will see their added value shift. Doing simulations, dashboards, that will no longer have any value, because your ChatGPT or your Claude will do it”warns Martin Pavanello. The technical brick is becoming commonplace.

Data and advice, what AI does not replace

The gain is mainly measured in time. “A well-used AI, for good use cases, saves you at least an hour and a half per day”says the expert. This productivity moves the border of advice paid to free advice. “The entire first layer that an advisor billed, modeling, research, management, AI now does it directly”continues Martin Pavanello. Professionals are already making an argument for it. There fintech French company RockFi launched in June 2026 a AI agent that monitors wallets and prepares reviews for its advisors, with a promise summarized by its co-founder Marie Bedu. “AI does not replace their profession. She gives them back time to really exercise it. »

The fluency of a response does not guarantee its reliability. Two out of three French people, or 67% of respondents, believe that AI can mislead or lead to bad decisionsa fear that rises to 75% among 18-35 year olds. For Martin Pavanello “We absolutely need general AI. Afterwards, if you have use cases for which it does not work, such as legal research, you need to equip yourself with a specialized module”he explains.

Then comes the question of data. Entrust your property situation complete to a general public tool is not trivial. “Today, there is no free version of AI tools that respects the GDPR »says Martin Pavanello, whose firm markets compliant professional licenses. The argument serves its activity, but it overlaps with a vigilance shared by the regulator. On the professional side, use remains cautious, 83% of use cases identified by theAMF concern internal tasks and only 1% the direct provision of investment services.

At the end of the chain remains the heart of the profession, the responsibility and the tailor-made advice. Whether a recommendation is produced by a collaborator or by an AI, the responsibility for its adequacy always weighs on the professional, and theEuropean AI Act already classifies certain uses linked to high risk scoring financial. Advisors have understood this well, 43% of them see autonomous investment tools driven by AI as their main competitive threat over five years according to the Natixis Investment Managers survey. At RockFi itself, where the advisor remains the sole decision-maker, technical director Maxime Durand puts the role of the model into perspective. “The value is not in the model, it is in what it can read. » Martin Pavanello locates the true value in the same place. “As soon as I want real advice in wealth managementTHE CGP will always have its full role”he decides. And to remember a simple limit. “It’s not up to an AI to decide. »
