If your child is in college, you can apply for the college scholarship. To receive it, you must meet certain conditions and make your request online depending on the situation.
There college scholarship is financial assistance paid to certain families who have their children enrolled in college. Calculated according to the resources and composition of the household, it helps cover part of the costs, such as supplies, school activities or even educational outings.
Who can get a college scholarship?
To benefit from a college scholarship, the child must attend school either in a public college or a private college under contract (or outside the contract authorized by the rector of the academy to receive scholarship holders) or within a Cned college level class (National Center for Distance Learning). Parents are also subject to resource conditions. Their annual income must not exceed a certain ceiling, depending on the number of dependent children.
Please note that in the event of cohabitation, the income of both partners is calculated. In the event of joint custody, only the income of the applicant parent is taken into account. What are the resource limits for obtaining a college scholarship?
For the 2024-2025 school year, the resources taken into account for the college scholarships relate to annual income received in 2023. Here are the applied ceilings to obtain the college scholarship:

How much is the college grant?
There are three amounts for the college scholarship For the 2024-2025 school year, the annual amounts of the college scholarship are as follows:
- 114 euros per child per year (level 1)
- 315 euros (level 2)
- 495 euros (step 3)
Since the start of the 2024-2025 school year, the procedures for applying for a college scholarship have been simplified. From now on, when the child registers for college, parents can give their consent for their situation to be studied and whether or not they are entitled to assistance. “This agreement constitutes a scholarship application”, indicates the Public Service website. If parents do not give their consent, they can always make a request online, even if they received it last year. You must renew your request on the Educonnect portal.
Concerning students enrolled in private establishments or at Cned, the procedure is slightly different. You will need to download the Cerfa forms n° 12539*14from the Public Service site, attach supporting documents (tax notice and bank identity statement in your name) and submit the complete file to the establishment where the child is educated.
When to apply for a college scholarship?
Apply for a college scholarship as soon as possible. For the 2024-2025 school year, the request must be made between September 1 and November 15, 2024.
When is the college grant paid?
College scholarships are paid quarterlyi.e. end of December, end of March and end of June. You will therefore receive three payments. Namely that the scholarship directly to the bank account of the child’s legal guardian, by the college’s accounting officer.
