Six months of work will have been necessary to renovate this partitioned duplex, dark and dated as well as its tired terrace. Today, both are full of modernity and that it is good to find themselves on the roofs of Paris, with breathtaking views of the Center Pompidou.
This great duplex is nestled at the heart of the marsh. With its dream situation and its terrace which offers a beautiful point of view on the capital, this good had everything to please. He was missing only a good coolness. Installed in a 18th century building, raised in the 1980s, with the creation of a fifth and top floor, the apartment was experienced. And it felt. When the interior architect Camille Hermand pushes the door for the first time, the volumes are there, but the whole is too partitioned, and the old decoration. A soulless style, which increases space.
As for the terrace, on the room side, it is completely neglected – almost a sacrilege in a neighborhood where it is an absolute luxury. For their customers, a couple without children often working from home, Camille Hermand has redesigned background places to better stick to their desires.
Among their requests: a large living space, a first closed office, another in the master bedroom, a second laundry room and, above all, a space just away. Result: a revised plan from A to Z, with a muscular demolition phase to open the surface. The kitchen, moved upstairs – and replaced by a guest room – gave a hard time.
Today, the mezzanine is hosting a summer fair open on the terrace, while in against, the winter fair is installed in peace. This is where you find the entrance, the master bedroom with dressing room and bathroom, but also the guest bedroom and its own water room. If the apparent beams and the original tomettes have been preserved, the whole now exudes modernity. Let’s dwell on the outdoor space. When the interior architect and its customers put their eyes on the original terrace, one of the biggest assets in the apartment is stupor: it gives the impression of having been forgotten for years …
Completely redesigned during the site by the landscapers of Paris Terrasse, this outdoor space resumed life and makes you dream again. Successful bet (s)!
Like what, with some arrangements, plants, a guinguette garland, a garden table and chairs, you can transform a space that seemed to be deserted.
