The presenter Arthur spoke without filter to the readers of “Parisien” on the occasion of the release of his new book entitled “Even the night does not want me”. The opportunity for the star presenter of TF1 to thank his wife, Mareva Galanter.
The presenter Arthur is already returning to bookstores with a new book which “focuses on the post-trauma of war” between Israel and Palestine after the attack on October 7. Having become a target since he became the media spokesperson for the Jews of France in the face of the rise in anti-Semitism, the presenter of Friday, anything goes saw his life turned upside down. But he can count on his rock, his wife Mareva Galanter.
Arthur morally scarred by the war: his wife pushes him to use this therapy
For months, Arthur has been absorbing “like a sponge“everything he sees, reads and hears about what he describes as”the trauma of October 7” and wanted to get personally involved in this subject. To the point, for those who ensure Parisian be “followed forever“by a psychologist, to endanger his mental health.”The nightmares have been happening all the time since the images of October 7 entered my mind. I participated in the editing of a documentary on the Nova festival, another on the women raped that day. Maybe it was a mistake, I thought I was braver than I was. I couldn’t even describe these images to you… They haunt me“, he told the newspaper.
And the 60-year-old host added: “There is not a week when my wife (Mareva Galanter, with whom he has been in a relationship since 2012 and whom he married in 2017, editor’s note) Since then I haven’t woken up because I’m screaming in my sleep (…) I thought that my life would calm down after the release of the hostages in October, but no. My wife insists that I do EMDR, but since Messmer, I’m a little afraid!“
Arthur grateful to Mareva Galanter: his “heroine”
The historic TF1 presenter, continually protected by bodyguards in the face of threats, acknowledged to readers of the newspaper that his media commitment to the release of hostages and the fight against anti-Semitism has made him a divisive person. A situation that is sometimes difficult to live with for his family; with his current wife he is the father of Manava (soon to be 11 years old) but also of Samuel (born in 1997 from his relationship with Léa Vigny) and Aaron (born in 2009 from his relationship with Caroline Nielsen).
“If there’s a heroine in all of this, it’s my wife. She kept the family at arm’s length for two and a half years. The children asked why I took naps in the afternoon when, usually, I was working like crazy at the office. I had become a zombie in my home. Fortunately, they understood. I’m well surrounded, I’m doing better than others, I even play padel! I’m not complaining, but there will always be challenges“, he added.
