An unexpected activity, associated with the youngest, ticks several boxes at once: energy expenditure, muscle tone, cardio and recovery. Ideal for firming and toning the silhouette.

When it comes to fitness and getting back into shape, experts agree on one point: to sculpt the figure and burn fat, the frequency of training often takes precedence over its duration. At 42, Irish presenter Angela Scanlon understood this well and integrated a real micro-workout of three minutes a day into her lifestyle. This express sports routine is designed to provoke a cardiovascular peak, boost basal metabolism and maximize muscle strengthening of the lower body. An athletic practice often associated with childhood, but whose biomechanical intensity proves to be extremely effective for the physical condition of adults.

Indeed, in sports physiology, it is proven that an organism subjected to daily high-intensity physical activity, even very brief ones, maintains a higher caloric expenditure than a sedentary body subjected to long, spaced-out efforts. It is precisely on this principle of metabolic optimization that Angela Scanlon’s program is based. Only three minutes, but with a dynamic sequence that raises the heart rate, recruits several muscles at once and maintains a form of daily discipline.

On a physical level, rapid movements continuously mobilize the legs, strongly engaging the thighs, calves and especially the glutes. At the same time, the abdominal strap works to stabilize the pelvis and maintain balance. With each impulse, the deep muscles participate in the effort, reinforcing general tone. This type of work is often more profitable than an isolated exercise, because several areas are used at the same time.

Cardio also plays a central role. As soon as the heart rate increases, the body increases its energy consumption. Over three intense minutes, the expenditure does not rival an hour of running, but it helps to create a useful accumulation over the week. Seven three-minute sessions already represent twenty-one minutes of additional activity, placed at a time when many are no longer moving. In short, the activity she does every evening is the mini-trampoline, also called rebounding. Behind its fun side, it allows you to do a quick cardio workout, target the glutes, mobilize the abs and add valuable energy expenditure to the day.

Another interest for the silhouette: this practice limits violent impacts. The flexible surface absorbs some of the shock, allowing you to work rhythmically without experiencing the same stress as with repeated jumps on hard ground. For people returning to activity, overweight or simply bothered by their joints, this aspect can facilitate regularity.
