Excluded capital
Exclusive – Banking establishments carried out an average increase in their rate of 1.7%, according to the annual study of the pan -spa comparator unveiled by capital. But some banks had much heavier hand for their customers.
A total of 228.90 euros. This is the average amount of costs that will be invoiced to customers of French banks in 2025, according to the study of the pan -spa comparator that Capital Unveils exclusively this Tuesday, February 4. Obtained by analyzing the price pads of 100 banks in mainland France on December 20, this total is increasing by 1.7% this year (+2.1% in 2024), online with inflation of 2% observed on the past exercise. But deducting from this average development that you will not pay much more your banking services this year would be a mistaken shortcut. Indeed, the examination by panorabancs of some 246 price lines (services invoiced à la carte) and 442 banking packages highlights very different practices according to market players.
Some have thus decided not to change their tariff conditions when others, like certain regional funds from Crédit Agricole, have started to charge certain services so far free. What was the choice of your bank? Price of your bank card, level of account holding costs, cost of “displaced” withdrawals (to the distributor of another banking establishment) or authorized overruns … Overview of the evolution of these prices at the Map, in 2025.

Account holding fees increased by 6.8%
Not all banks bill them, but an overwhelming majority makes you pay for this service which represents on average 9% of the total of your costs. “86% of French people are in banks that charge account holding fees in 2025 “underlines Panorabanques. And the establishments in question did not skimp in pricing increases this year, since the average cost of account holding costs increases to 22.10 euros, compared to 20.70 euros in 2024. A supplement of 1.40 euros in average, but which can be much higher in certain banks. “Three regional funds from Crédit Agricole have started to charge these costs, Anna Meylacq point, spokesperson for pan-spa. Crédit Agricole Anjou Maine set them at 24 euros, Crédit Agricole Touraine Poitou at 18 euros and Crédit Agricole Center Loire at 12 euros. ” Also note the outbreak (+50%) of account holding costs at Crédit Agricole Aquitaine, where they go from 12 to 18 euros this year. Prices still very far from those of the most greedy establishment in the matter with 78 euros invoiced, the Palatine Bank.
In contrast, online banks (Fortuneo, Boursobank, etc.) but also LCL, Milleis, Crédit Coopératif or Crédit Agricole Normandie Seine do not punctuate their customers for a service that “Officially corresponds to the management of your account by advisers and services provided in agency”details Anna Meylacq.
The price of the bank card increases by 3.2%
Weighing for almost a third (30%) of your bank charges, your payment card will cost you this year 67.10 euros, or 2.50 euros more than 2024 (+3.2%). An average that takes into account conventional immediate debit cards (46.50 euros), with delayed flow (46.40 euros) but also high -end cards, Visa Premier and Gold Mastercard, at an average cost of 136 euros .
Here again, and even if they are in the average of the market, the Crédit Agricole boxes have significantly noted the price of their classic immediate debit card, 10% for example at Crédit Agricole Center Loire and Crédit Agricole Val de France , respectively 45 euros and 48.17 euros. Prices that remain below the most expensive establishments in this area, namely the Chalus bank (59 euros) or the Savoy bank (58 euros).
In terms of classic credit card with delayed debit, it is also at Crédit Agricole that the increases are the most severe, with +11% at Crédit Agricole Toulouse 31 (49.90 euros) and at Crédit Agricole Aquitaine (47 euros). The most gourmet banks on this type of means of payment? Banque Chalus (59 euros) and Crédit Mutuel de Bretagne (53.40 euros).
Withdrawals out of your bank cost you 7.8% more expensive
You probably don’t pay attention to it. And yet, they represent 7% of your average annual bill. This year, the cost of your “displaced” withdrawals, that is to say in another banking brand than yours, increases considerably: from 7.8% to 15.40 euros. Two explanations to this, according to Anna Meylacq: “The number of free displaced withdrawals each month drops in 10 banks. In parallel, 22 establishments increased the unit price of withdrawal once this threshold has reached. ” No more free withdrawals outside your bank in Bred, in certain savings boxes (Loire Drôme Ardèche, Normandie) and at Crédit Agricole Morbihan. From now on, only two operations are not billed there. At Crédit Agricole Vendée or Champagne Bourgogne, the quota even goes from four with no cost to two.
And if it is only a few cents, increases in the cost of withdrawal, 1 to 1.20 euros to the SG (ex-general and North Credit), and 1 to 1.10 euros At the Banque Populaire Alsace Lorraine Champagne, the Banque Populaire Aquitaine Center Atlantique, Crédit Agricole Center France, Crédit Agricole Lorraine or Crédit Mutuel Ile de France, can weigh heavily over a year. “You have to favor your banking group as much as possible to withdraw from a distributortherefore advises Anna Meylacq. Or withdraw a large sum at once to avoid multiplying these operations. ” Note that some banks, mainly online, do not pay these costs: Axa Banque, Boursobank, Fortuneo, but also Banque Palatine, Milleis or Crédit Mutuel Océan.
Watch out for the cost of authorized overrun
This is the line to monitor in your bank invoice, especially if your accounts are regularly in red: the cost of an unauthorized overdraft. And in particular the intervention committee, perceived in addition to agios in the event of a payment incident. In 2025, this operation returned to you on average at 7.82 euros, against 7.80 euros in 2024. But the overwhelming majority of market players reached the legal maximum of 8 euros and only six banks are located below this threshold. To know Boursobank, Bforbank, Hello Bank and Fortuneo which do not charge this operation, and the Crédit Coopératif (6 euros) as well as the Mutuel Maine Anjou Basse Normandie (7.80 euros).
By adding to this cost that of the newsletter on account unauthorized debtor – of 9.90 euros on average (+2%) in 2025 – and agios which can climb to the rate of wear (22.93 % at the start of the year), the total costs related to the overdraft accounts for 50% of the annual bank fees of a customer. “Your first reflex must be to request an overdraft authorization, to monitor your accounts via your application and, if necessary, to notify your bank in the event of an exceptional operation to negotiate the exceeding costs”advocates Anna Meylacq. If your establishment is not flexible enough, do not hesitate to head to an online bank, much less greedy than conventional establishments in this area.
