The freezer is an essential device for our kitchens. It freezes food products and store frozen products. The essential criteria for choosing a freezer adapted to your needs are volume, shape and type of cold.
The freezer’s capacity is expressed in liters. It depends first of all on the user. For a single person, a 150 L or less model will be sufficient. For a couple or a family of 3 people, it is better to choose a freezer of 150 L at 250 L. The largest freezers, exceeding 250 L, will suit families of 4 or more. Also think of the type of product you store. If you think you freeze large amounts of meat, fruits or vegetables, opt for a large model. Mini freezers have a capacity of around 30 L.
There are several forms of freezers. The cabinet freezer, like the refrigerator, is vertical. Its interior is divided into drawers. It can reach a capacity of 450 L. The top freezer is a smaller version of the wardrobe model. It can be used as a worktop or slip under an existing work plan. The built -in freezer is also vertical. It can be placed in a niche, behind a closet door, to blend into the design of the kitchen. The trunk freezer takes up more space on the ground and its interior is arranged with baskets. Its maximum capacity is larger than other models (up to 600 L). Rather, it is installed in a garage or basement.
There are several types of cold: static, “smart frost” and “no frost”. Static cold is a classic system in which the cold flows naturally. The coldest areas are at the bottom of the device. The “Smart Frost” system makes it possible to limit the formation of frost to 80%. The “no frost”, only present in the cabinets freezes, is the most sophisticated system: it prevents the formation of frost.
