Between via Padova and viale Monza there is a corner of Milan that will be transformed for two days into the beating heart of a great festival of books and stories, the Trotter park. The First Literary Festival will take place between Friday 27 and Saturday 28 March “We are made different”.
During these two days, books and reading will not be experienced simply as objects to browse but will create a meeting space, where we can look each other in the eye, overcoming the barriers and boundaries that distance us.
Particular attention will be given to the boys of the institute IC Francesco Cappellitrue protagonists and recipients of the Festival. On Friday the young students will have the opportunity to meet authors of books. It will be an opportunity to reflect together on the power of books and culture, especially in a historical period in which the attention of young people seems to be completely catalyzed by social networks.
On Saturday the park will open to citizens, it will be possible to walk among the literary installations prepared by the classes that will embellish the Trotter. The realities linked to the neighborhood will be fundamental to the success of the festival. Everyone will make their own small contribution to enrich the experience, like a large family table where everyone brings something to eat.
The Trotter Book Library will contribute with its multilingual readings, while the independent bookstores in the area will take care of the space dedicated to books, with the mastery and ability that only those who work there in contact with this infinite well of culture have. The Porta Venezia library will also contribute to the Festivalrecounting the treasure of the city’s book lending systems. Babuk workshopinstead, it will offer training to teachers, educators, volunteers and parents on reading illustrated books in AAC, to make the time dedicated to reading a truly inclusive moment. Parents, a fundamental element for the growth of tomorrow’s adults: without the precious support of the Parents Committee maybe it wouldn’t have been to realize these two days.
