The big turnaround. While the government had initially planned a “blank year» in its 2026 budget proposal – that is to say the blocking of the increase in social benefits – the deputies overwhelmingly rejected this measure.

Ultimately, all aid from the Family Allowance Fund will be well revalued by 0.9% on April 1, 2026like every year. For certain low-income workers, an additional bonus is even added with a significant increase in the activity bonus.

RSA, AAH, allowances: the new amounts as of April 1

While the income tax scale was increased by 0.9% for this year 2026, just like pensions, social benefits are also increased by this same amount. The goal: to monitor inflation (the average rise in prices) so as not to penalize the French.
Concretely, here is what this 0.9% increase should give for the main aids:

  • THE RSA (Active solidarity income) would increase from €646.52 to €652.33 per month for a single person with no other income or APL; i.e. a gain of €5.82. For a couple without children, the amount would increase from €969.78 to €978.50.
  • The AAH (Allowance for disabled adults) would reach €1,042.62 per month instead of €1,033.32 currently, i.e. €9.30 more.
  • THE family allowances and the PLA follow the same logic: a revaluation of 0.9% applied from April 1. The precise amounts vary depending on your situation (number of children, income, geographical area for APL).

Help for workers: increase in the activity bonus

“The state budget must reflect a clear priority: being on the side of the workers”. This is what Prime Minister Sébastien Lecornu said regarding the increase in the activity bonus. Indeed, it is a flagship measure of the 2026 budget, which will boost the purchasing power of 3 million households: a €50 increase in the activity bonus. This aid is paid by CAF to workers with modest incomes (winner up to 1.5 times the minimum wage, or around €2,160 net), but primarily targets those who are around the minimum wage. For them, it should climb up to €600 per year on average.

Let’s take the example of an employee, single without children, who earns €1,730 net per month (1.2 SMIC) without any other assistance. According to the CAF simulator, it currently affects approximately €122 premium of activity per month. With the reform and the €50 bonus, it should increase to around 172 € monthly.

For the lowest salaries, the impact is the same: a winning employee €1,500 net currently touching €214 activity bonusalways according to the simulator. With the revaluation, this will €264. A total premium which therefore represents 17.6% more of his salarya significant boost.
