A growing union, which focuses on the new generations and relaunches its social vision for Italy and Europe. It is in this spirit that CISL is preparing to celebrate in Rome, from Wednesday 16 to Saturday 19 July 2025, its XX confederal congress. The appointment will take place at the Palazzo dei Congressi dell’Eur and will see the participation of 1,034 delegated and delegates from all Italian regions, representing Over 4 million and 163 thousand subscribers. Important numbers, especially if we consider the associative growth recorded in the last four years: +172 thousand members among active workersof which the 31.44% is under 35 years old.
The congress arrives at the end of a long internal democratic path, which involved the whole organization through 13,837 congresses At the territorial, categorical and national level, starting from the workplace. To lead the Confederation, since 12 February, is Daniela Fumarolathe first elected woman general secretary of the CISL, who will open the work with her programmatic relationship on Wednesday afternoon.
The opening of the congress
The official opening is scheduled for Wednesday 16 July at 15.00with the institutional greetings of Rosita Peleccageneral secretary of the CISL of Roma Capitale and Rieti, del Mayor of Rome Roberto Gualtieri and of the President of the Lazio Region Francesco Rocca. Following, at 4.15 pm, Daniela Fumarola’s intervention.
The greetings of the leaders of the main Italian and European trade union organizations are expected: Esther Lynch (ETUC), Maurizio Landini (CGIL) e Pierpaolo Bombardieri (Uil). To witness the international dimension of the CISL, representatives of the unions of Belarus, Burma, Israel, Palestine and Ukraine.
Round tables and institutional guests
In the four congress days, moments of debate in plenary and work sessions will alternate in the commission, but the heart of the comparison will be represented by Four Round Tables Thematicthink to deepen the main challenges of the world of work and contemporary society.

Closing and new elections
The congress will end Saturday 19th July with the final debate in plenary, the Replica of the General Secretary Daniela Fumarola (11.00) and the Presentation of the congress motion. The elections for the renewal of the Executive bodies: General council, Board of Mayors, Board of Arbitrators.
A congress that is announced full of content, vision and participation, in a crucial moment for the future of work in Italy and Europe. Under the guidance of Fumarola, the CISL proposes itself as the engine of a new “humanism of work”, open to innovation, but firm in the protection of people.
