A decree of December 26, 2024 has just recorded the increase in the mandatory remainder of your CPF training. Here is the amount you will have to pay out of your pocket for each training purchase.

– How much does the remaining CPF charge increase in January 2025?
Ten years after its creation, the Personal Training Account (CPF), renamed “My training account” in 2019, continues to finance a multitude of training courses in France. With 40 million active accounts and 200,000 training courses offered in 2024, this system remains as attractive as ever. But how exactly does it work? Over time, you accumulate rights, and therefore money, to finance professional training. For example, a full-time employee accumulates around 500 euros per year within the limit of 5,000 euros.
For “low-skilled” employees, the annual amount of CPF credit increases to 800 euros (capped at 8,000 euros). You will then find a multitude training (CAP cooking, technical-commercial negotiator training, etc.), but not at any price. Because although the CPF finances training, your remaining costs may increase depending on the cost of the training and the new co-financing measures.

What is the minimum remaining charge to pay in your CPF space?
So, once in your personal space, you will, in principle, have to pay around a hundred euros out of your pocket. Since a decree of December 26, 2024a minimum remaining charge of 102.23 euros is now obligatory. An increase of a few euros compared to May 2024. Last spring, the government announced that this threshold of 100 euros would be adjusted according to inflation, and this has now been done.
This measure also aims to reduce public spending: in February 2024, the former Minister Delegate in charge of Public Accounts, Thomas Cazenave, declared that this franchise of around one hundred euros would allow “to generate 200 million euros in savings out of a total of 2 billion”.

CPF: what exemptions to avoid paying these remaining 102.23 euros?
So, if your training costs 1,000 euros and you have 1,000 euros in your CPF account, 897.77 euros will be financed by your CPF rights and therefore, logically, 102.23 euros from your pocket. As the My training account website explains, “the remainder to pay corresponds to the amount of the price of your training that you still have to pay yourself, after deduction of your CPF rights and any additional aid.» Therefore, if the training you wish to follow costs 1,000 euros, and you have accumulated 800 euros in CPF rights, then you will have 200 euros left to pay.
In some cases, exemptions are provided and you will not have to pay the remaining minimum charge of 102.23 euros, in particular if you are a job seeker, if your targeted training is the subject of a contribution from your employer, if you use the points of your professional prevention account (C2P)… So, when choosing your training on the site, do not be surprised to have to checkout even if your rights are higher than the price of the training, or if you are not one of the exempt ones.
