Some unscrupulous pseudo-sends have found the combination to charge the double, even triple, to their customers … without them being able to do anything.

Getting shiny at home to buy products, whether for solar panels, beauty products, or health equipment, it is rather common in France. People by force are running: they open the door, sometimes listen out of politeness, then decline the proposal. But what many ignore is that once this door opened, some very well-trained pseudo-sends can return the situation to their advantage. In a few minutes, they install a climate of confidence, erase doubts … and make order pleas that seem perfectly ordinary, when they are not at all.

At the time, it is difficult to realize it. And yet a detail must alert everyone, because this kind of situation can happen to anyone. This is payment. Often, when a seller announces an amount to pay, we instinctively think that the sum must be adjusted right away. And some unscrupulous people know how to play on this impression, letting you believe that it is … while in reality, this is not true. Indeed, as our colleagues from UFC explain that choosing, within the framework of a sale outside the establishment, that is to say a sale concluded at home, at your workplace or in a public place, the consumer must not pay anything immediately. It is even inscribed in law.

According to article L221-10 of the consumer code, “The professional may not receive any payment or compensation, in any form whatsoever, from the consumer before the expiration of a period of seven days from the conclusion of the contract outside the establishment.” He therefore does not have the right to request an immediate payment, if he does it, he is indeed illegality, which leads to “Nullity of the contract”.

Unfortunately, many consumers do not know their rights well, especially when it comes to home sales. Result: they let themselves be trapped by well -established crooks. One of the most frequent scenarios is that of false primers. These individuals present themselves as simple sellers of fruits and vegetables, often by being sympathetic and in a hurry. They praise supposedly local, seasonal products, and claim to make an “exceptional tour”. Except that no price is clearly announced.

Customers think they are buying one or two baskets at a reasonable price … until a savory bill is tend to them, sometimes several hundred euros. Taken short, intimidated, many pay without daring to protest. This scam returns each year, especially as summer approaches, and often targets the elderly or isolated. The testimonies are multiplying, but the crooks change regions or names, making their hunt difficult.
