What is the daily caregiver allowance?
CAF financial assistance for family caregivers
The daily caregiver’s allocation (AJPA) is financial aid intended to financially support persons forced to temporarily stop their professional activity or reduce it in order to take care of a disabled person, loss of autonomy or seriously ill.
Compensation for the caregiver leave
The caregiver leave is compensated by the AJPA. It incorporates all the measures and modalities aimed at supporting caregivers, who play an important role in supporting dependent people.
Who can benefit from the AJPA?
Conditions related to professional status and activity
The benefit of the daily caregiver allowance is reserved for people who live in France and who meet the general conditions to benefit from family services. They must also:
- Be employee, civil servant, self -employed worker, collaborator spouse, traveler representatives and plans (VRP), employee of an individual employer or be an intern of paid professional training or compensated unemployed suspending his training or his job search.
- Have asked for a career for a caregiver to his employer beforehand.
- Temporarily stop your professional activity or reduce your working time.
Conditions related to the person with disabilities
To be able to benefit from the AJPA, the caregiver must have a close and stable link with the helped person. It can be the spouse, partner, partner of PACS, ascendant or descending. He must provide non -professional help to perform all or part of the acts of daily life.
The assisted person must have an incapacity rate of at least 80% recognized by the MDPH (Departmental House of Disableds) or a loss of autonomy evaluated in GIR 1, 2, 3 and 4.

Who cannot touch the daily allowance of the caregiver?
Local caregivers or without professional activity
On the other hand, cannot benefit from this aid, retirement or without professional activity or even people remunerated by the person helped with the compensation service of the handicap or the personalized autonomy allowance.

What are the steps to be taken to obtain the AJPA?
Make a request to CAF or MSA
AJPA’s request is made to the cash register which pays it, namely the CAF (Family Allowance Fund) or the Caisse de MSA (Mutualité Social Agricole) for people who fall under the agricultural regime.
File to be completed online
The request is made online on the CAF site for already beneficiaries. Each month, they will receive a certificate to be completed and returned to CAF. Here are the main documents to be attached to the request:
- Copy of the disability certificate (MDPH) or a classification notice in GIR 1 to 3 issued by Health Insurance or the Departmental Council.
- Proof of identity (identity card or residence permit).
- Proof of suspension or reduction of activity (e.g. employer certificate near caregiver, attestation from France work, certificate of the self-employed, etc.).
- Banking identity statement (RIB).
- Proof of link with the helped person (family book, birth certificate, etc.).
- Declaration on honor attesting to a stable and close relationship (for people with no relationship).
Paper form to be completed for non-allocaria
People who are not beneficiaries must make a paper request. The Cerfa 16108*01 form can be downloaded online. It must be completed and sent to the cash register, accompanied by the necessary documents requested. The cash register instructs the file upon receipt.

What is the amount of the daily caregiver allowance in 2025?
Since January 1, 2025, the net amount of the daily caregiver’s allocation is:
- 65.80 euros per day.
- 32.90 euros per half day.
How many days can we benefit from the AJPA?
Payment
The daily help for the caregiver is paid to the maximum for 66 days. It is split up half-day within 22 days per month. This duration applies to the entire professional career of the Nearly caregiver. It applies whatever the number of people helped (four maximum).
Renewal
Once the limit of 66 days has been reached, a new AJPA request can be made for a maximum of 66 days if the beneficiary provides a new person.
