Arrival in the world of work. Your first wages … and very often also your first income declaration. If you are alternating, you may have Fill for the first time a tax return. A document which indicates to the tax administration the total of your income received in the past year, information essential for the calculation of your tax. But should you automatically pay for your income received in 2024?
To be taxable on your 2024 income, you still have to declare your income yourself. This is not the case if you are always attached to the tax household of your parents. Your income is then included in your parents’ declaration. This is particularly the case if you were a minor on December 31, 2024, or that you are between 18 and 24 years old and decide – with their approval – to remain attached to the tax household of your parents. Note that at 25 years (or more) on January 1, 2024, you must complete your own tax return.
Income tax: beware of this new box in your 2025 declaration
Up to 21,273 euros in exempt income
If you are no longer attached to your parents’ tax household, you must declare all the income received in 2024. But good news for apprentices and trainees, you benefit from a reduction linked to your situation. Indeed, if you were an apprentice in 2024, your wages are exempt until 21,273 euros. Clearly, until this amount, if you are well in apprenticeship or trainee, you will be non -taxable. But beware, this reduction is applied to your income only if you have checked the box corresponding to your situation.
So, check the “apprentice/interns” box well If your income is exclusively of a work -study internship or period of training, as part of a apprenticeship. Internship gratuities or wages received on an apprenticeship contract must therefore be declared in full, without applying the reduction yourself. Just check the box indicating your status (apprentice/trainee) for the exemption to be taken into account. Be careful not to miss this step, because in case of forgetting, all of your income will be taken into account, which could make you taxable.
Declaration of income: what is the “Allo tax” operation?
