Each year, the Ministry of National Education unveils the school holiday dates well in advance, to allow families to anticipate their leave as much as possible. Know now the 2026-2027 school calendar for each zone allows parents to take their leave on time, organize family trips, plan activities during school breaks or even plan childcare. To fully understand the school calendar, it is important to remember that mainland France is divided into three zones, in order to stagger holidays and avoid too many crowds in tourist resorts. Zone A includes the academies of Besançon, Bordeaux, Clermont-Ferrand, Dijon, Grenoble, Lyon, Limoges and Poitiers. Zone B concerns those of Aix-Marseille, Amiens, Caen, Lille, Nancy-Metz, Nantes, Nice, Orléans-Tours, Reims, Rennes, Rouen and Strasbourg. As for zone C, it brings together the academies of Créteil, Montpellier, Paris, Toulouse and Versailles.
