Stéphane Bern exiled far from Paris: happier?
A heritage enthusiast, Stéphane Bern chose a very quiet village to settle in: he has lived full-time for three years, with his partner Yori, in Thiron-Gardais, a small town of 1000 inhabitants located in Eure-et-Loire, in Perche. It was here that he acquired the former royal and military college in 2013. He fell into debt of 4 million euros for the purchase and the work but sold his Parisian apartment and its furniture to bail himself out. A little.
Asked about his new life far from Paris, the flagship host of the PAF did not hide his joy. “I spend one or two nights a week there (in Paris, editor’s note). It’s nice to get there, it’s very good to leave. I am not idle in Thiron-Gardais, on the contrary, but there is a form of tranquility and less stress. For me, everything is lighter in the countryside”.
And the former host of the cult show Sagas to conclude: “Now, I have a good excuse to refuse dinners in town: I’m far away. And, finally, social events have never really been my thing. You waste your time there and you gain weight. prefers the healthy life here with my dogs and my chickens”.
“I did not ask for the possible subsidies” : the exceptional property that Stéphane Bern is renovating alone
Stéphane Bern bought his exceptional property in Perche alone, without any state aid. Moreover, he claims it, he is also renovating it by his own means and has not requested any subsidy. “I did not ask for possible subsidies. Being paid by the French on the public audiovisual service, it is my personal ethics not to ask anything from the State”he proclaimed loud and clear in the same interview.
Furthermore, Stéphane Bern has a home in Luxembourg, his country of heart, of which he obtained nationality a few years ago, and, according to the latest news, a house on the island of Paros, in Greece.
