I lost a very dear friend, Maria Rita Parsi, with which I fought, won and lost many battles, especially for the kids with problems that we wanted to save.
I cannot help but remember the hardships and exchanges we have undergone, in some historical cases and the very painful disappointments. I didn’t want to “start”, talking about her, with the headlines that usually frame famous people on the days when we talk about them and their loss.
He was one of the few people who put children, kids first. I believe that, as in my 40-year experience alongside many difficult kids, she too has sometimes experienced very strong and critical moments. And if some strange phone call or some particular case came, there were no timetables.
For her they were all stories, not “cases”, important… his love had no limits and you always found his heart open to listen and welcome. For her, the protection of children was primary. It was his intention after living with his grandmother, where the fairy tale de The little match girl it changed her life, so everyone was a “little match girl”.
After hours of living alone in her room, shocked by the pain of her peer, she did everything she could to help that child in precarious situations and became a teacher, a graduate in literature, a philosopher and a sociologist.
He didn’t want children, “there are too many on earth” he said. Perhaps all the boys he defended in his daily battles and public debates were or television, in which we have sometimes found ourselves and clashed too.
I miss him and his friendship very much. Lately, when we talked about the case of the “family of the forest” (and I say it again because I agree with it) he said: “Adults fight and children pay.” Unfortunately children always pay.
And now, without her, they will certainly pay more.
Hello Maria Rita, my friend!
