A fashion choice that she finds “quite funny”, she confides exclusively to Journal des Femmes.
While a white coat covers the French landscapes since Monday, seasoned fashionistas equip themselves with multiple layers of clothing and use and abuse layering to survive in style. But it’s hard to stay trendy when the temperatures are negative… even fashion icons who have walked for the biggest names agree. “It’s true that going out well dressed and chic in winter is not easy”confides Estelle Lefébure, as part of an interview given to Women’s Journal for his collaboration with Grain of Malice.
Stylistic flemmingitis quickly takes over our desire to look great… But don’t panic: Estelle Lefébure comes to our aid by sharing her secret for a couture look “without necessarily having 15 layers.” Her simple tip for a chic and warm look? The extra long down jacket. No offense to certain chic purists who give it an overly sportswear image, the maxi down jacket has everything to please the former muse of Thierry Mugler: “it’s a solution that is easy, radical, and goes well”according to her. But be careful, she wears it a certain way. So, when the winter cold comes, she often associates her “big down jacket that hides everything” to an outfit “super undercut underneath.”
What does she like about this stylistic association? The element of surprise. The contrast between an almost shapeless overcoat and a perfectly elegant outfit, revealed the moment you take it off. “I find it quite funny, because you go into a restaurant, it doesn’t look like much, and on the other hand, when I take it off, underneath I’ll have the super sexy, super pretty dress to go out with.”
At 59, Estelle Lefébure plays with fashion taboos in a playful way, without ever losing her chic. And that’s what also pleases about his style.
