For over 50 years, Evelyne Dhéliat has appeared daily on TF1. Always well dressed to present the weather, she has just revealed what really happens to her clothes once she no longer needs them.
With a permanent contract at TF1 since 1971, Evelyne Dhéliat holds the record for longevity in the French audiovisual landscape, regardless of gender or media. For 53 years, she has appeared daily on television to keep us informed of the day’s weather forecast. And with each new bulletin, the presenter sports new, ultra-mastered and sharp looks. Little colorful dresses, fitted blouses or even chino pants, Evelyne Dhéliat has already proven time and time again that everything suits her.
However, her well-stocked wardrobe has raised some questions from her fans. Where do her clothes come from? What are their values? And where do they go after they’re worn? The TV icon answered these questions last June during the radio show We’re remaking TV on RTL.
The presenter said that she doesn’t choose her outfits herself, but that they are provided to her by major brands. However, she doesn’t keep anything for herself. “It’s true that the clothes are lent to me by fashion houses. I don’t keep anything. I return them, or they stay at TF1 where I have two closets,” she explained to journalist Eric Dussart. But that’s not the only fashion point that intrigued the French. Summer and winter, Evelyne Dhéliat is indeed dressed in the same way, very summery. So, is it very hot in the studio for her to be able to wear short sleeves while announcing negative temperatures?
Well no, quite the contrary. “Summer and winter, the studio has the same temperature, which must not be too high so as not to damage the audiovisual equipment,” she indicated. Short sleeves and skirts? To make it look prettier, then! Was it to make it look prettier?
