“Every year, the governor of California proclaims Cesar Chavez Day. It’s in statute. I don’t know a community in the country — I traveled to 14 states the last few weeks. I think I was in 14 Cesar Chavez streets in every part of this country. So, we’re just going to have to reflect on all of that and, you know, reflect on a farm workers’ movement and a labor movement that was much bigger than one man and celebrate that.” “Cesar Chavez Avenue needs to be replaced. There are conversations within the community, one that we are spearheading, on change.org to change it into Dolores Huerta Avenue.”
