A gift that speaks of beauty, roots and Italian artisan knowledge: it is Excelsis, the precious art volume published by Consulting Art and donated to Pope Leo XIVsymbol of an Italy united by the genius and heart of its excellence.
Designed by the South, Excelsis is a journey between sacred art, philosophy and spirituality. The volume collects the contributions of Alfonso Masullo from Salerno, who edited the preface and directed the artistic and editorial project, by SE Orazio Francesco Piazza, by prof. Antonino Zichichi and prof. Francesco Gallo Mazzeo, in a dialogue of great intellectual and human value on the theme of hope, faith and religious art.
The limited edition (only 225 copies) makes each copy a work of art in itself: each volume contains an original drawing, handmade by artists of the caliber of Antonella Cappuccio, Giovanni Grassi, Jessica Oliveras, Lorenzo Attolini, Lionel Yamadjako and Matteo Plini, with the bronze cover “Christ” signed by Maestro Alessandro Romano.
The production involved some of the best Italian artisan excellences: from the Legatoria Tuderte of Todi for the real leather binding, to the Cartiera Manualis of Fabriano, to the historic Fallani Venezia factory for the artistic serigraphs, the artistic foundry, for the bronze cover, Venturi Arte of Bologna, up to the Marchesi Grafiche Editoriali of Rome for the printing.
A project entirely conceived, coordinated and brought to fruition thanks to a talented entrepreneur and his authoritative staff from Southern Italy, demonstrating how the South knows how to become a cradle of culture and national unity through shared work: «Excelsis is not just an art book, but a bridge between faith, beauty and Italian identity», declared Raffaele Tortorella, CEO of Consulting Art, a young and brilliant publisher, «we wanted to show that the South does not divide, but unites Italy: it does so with the talent of its best minds, with the desire to enhance excellence and with the depth of its spirituality”.
