Finding a sports routine to stand is not always easy. But a method thought by a professional athlete could well change the situation. Explanation.

Motivating to play sports is not always easy. Especially when our schedule is already full. Maintaining a routine then becomes an impossible mission! What if you were told that a certain method makes it possible to create a real rhythm and to stick to it? Thought in the 1960s by Leslie Mills, a New Zealand weightlifting, it is now present in many sports halls around the world. Without knowing it, you may have even tried it.

The advantage of this method? She is accessible to everyone and promises to help keep her motivation. “”There is a reflection, a scientific, social, psychological analysis of our behaviors, our attitudes, our physiology. It’s ultra complete, because Leslie Mills realized that if you want to have someone’s sporting sports, you needed something pretty protocol“, Explains Déborah Canela, founder of the Pyra sports club, located in Paris. Indeed, the Mills method (so named after its inventor) is based on co -choreographed training on music, in which there is a wide range of fitness and cardio movements sometimes inspired by dance, aerobic or combat sports. During the course, there is a very progressive rise, Efforts of effort then a return to calm. The idea is that for three months, you will have the same choreography. For example on the Body Pump, you’re going to start with your arms on music, you chain with the choré and squats on such music, you do an abs sequence on another“, Continues the professional. The idea is to bet on muscle memory, and learning a routine for rapid progression. After three months, the cycle is renewed and the exercises change. Place a new routine.

The MILLS method then allows you to remain motivated, regardless of the disciplines chosen. “That is to say that so that the body is able to continue a sporting effort, it takes a time usually. It takes at least two months, and if you go too hard, too quickly, you are demotivating yourself and you even disgust yourself“, says Déborah Canela. But that’s not all: this rehearsal mechanism also improves endurance, cardiovascular health and developing muscles in order to keep a tonic silhouette. To start, the expert recommends carrying two lessons per week, then increase to three if the lifestyle is compatible.

As for the effects on the body, Déborah Canela says: with rigor and a balanced diet, the first changes can be seen after two months. Mental benefits are immediately felt thanks to dopamine released during the effort. The courses of the MILLS method are offered in many sports halls in France. To test, do not hesitate to get closer to brands near you.
