“Me Too”, the new film by Judith Godrèche, was presented in Cannes on May 15, 2024. When climbing the steps, the actress and director was accompanied by her daughter, Tess Barthélemy. The latter wore a particularly glamorous designer dress.
On May 15, 2024, Tess Barthélémy, 19, walked the red carpet at the Cannes Film Festival for the first time. Hand in hand with her mother, actress and director Judith Godrèche, the young actress slipped into a black slip dress with a deep cowl neck. A satin piece designed by the Celine house. Judith Godrèche opted for a Givenchy tuxedo and Jimmy Choo pumps.
If the duo was present at the Cannes Film Festival this year, it is because Judith Godrèche screened there Me too, his short film shot with a thousand women and a few men, all victims of sexual violence. Tess Barthélemy, who previously participated in the series Icon of French Cinema, produced by his mother and broadcast in 2023, plays a central role in this new production. As they climbed the steps, the two women, accompanied by part of the cast, covered their mouths to discuss the obstacles to speech encountered by victims of sexual and gender-based violence. As a reminder, in February 2024, Judith Godrèche filed a complaint against the directors Jacques Doillon and Benoît Jacquot for “rape of a minor under 15 years old by a person in authority”. She has since been one of the faces of the #MeToo movement in France.
Celine, the brand of young firsts
This is not the first time that the French label headed by Hedi Slimane has dressed a young actress at the start of her career. She even recently became the face of an advertising campaign for the It bag Victorythe new leather handbag sold for 2,900 euros by the LVMH group house.
Ava Phillippe, the daughter of American actress Reese Witherspoon and Kaia Gerber, the daughter of Cindy Crawford, are also among the brand’s young muses.
