After several pilot experiences, Carrefour announced the total stop of this shipment and finally, it is good news for the planet and for all those who refuse unpatured advertising. Indeed, this represents 75,000 tonnes of paper per year! But then, how to stay informed of the store offers when you are used to comparing prices on catalogs every week?
Carrefour offers customers to register by SMS, WhatsApp or by e-mail in order to know all the products stored in their store. They can also opt for the application which presents all the offers of the moment. However, not everyone is necessarily comfortable with digital. In addition to communication on social networks or on television, catalogs will remain accessible at the entrance and the exit of stores, specifies Carrefour. “The distribution of prospectuses was almost what was simpler. Now we have to work on the attractiveness and exposure of our offers in a more precise way”, Explained to LSA Frédéric Preslot, Operational Marketing Director of Carrefour France.
This major change was initially to operate in 2026, but the brand managed to achieve its little ahead objective. Recall that the Cora brand, bought by Carrefour, has already put an end to the distribution of prospectus in consumer mailboxes since January 2023. E-Leclerc stores have followed in September of the same year.
