Six months after the ceasefire agreement in Gaza, the situation for boys and girls in the Strip remains dramatic: at least two minors are killed or injured every day. This is what emerges from the monitoring conducted by Save the Children with four other organisations, the Danish Refugee Council, the Norwegian Refugee Council, Oxfam and Refugees International.
The data collected tells a very different reality from the one promised. The measures envisaged to guarantee the protection of civilians, access to humanitarian aid, freedom of movement, reconstruction and economic development have remained largely ignored. Meanwhile, the Palestinian population continues to live in extremely difficult conditions, including food insecurity, limited access to essential services and continuous attacks.. Restrictions on freedom of movement and barriers to aid entry further aggravate an already devastating crisis, particularly affecting boys and girls. «This is not peace for the children of Gaza. The ceasefire agreement did not result in real protection for children or create the conditions for recovery», he reports Inger AshingCEO of Save the Children International.

According to the organization, which has been fighting for over 100 years to save girls and boys at risk and guarantee them a future, the plan promoted by the Trump administration and approved by Resolution 2803 of the United Nations Security Council has failed: it has not guaranteed protection for civilians or adequate access to aid.
For the boys and girls of Gaza, daily life remains marked by deprivation and fear. Food shortages, limited access to clean water and sanitation, and the ongoing impact of violence make safe growth impossible. Added to this are the consequences on mental health: trauma, stress and insecurity are profoundly compromising the psychological well-being of an entire generation. And, despite growing needs, humanitarian access continues to be severely limited. «Even its humanitarian provisions – the simplest to implement – such as the entry of aid, continue to be hindered. We are ready to expand our intervention and support the people of Gaza, but we must be able to do our job», Ashing said again.
