The first debate between Kamala Harris and Donald Trump, and for the moment the only one planned between the presidential candidates, did not allow us to learn much more about their political projects. For more than 90 minutes, the candidates were questioned on the economy, abortion rights, immigration and foreign policy.
But this first face-to-face meeting between the two White House contenders quickly turned sour on Tuesday night in Philadelphia. And it was Kamala Harris who was the first to deliver the final blow, offering a striking contrast to Joe Biden’s performance in June. It remains to be seen whether this will be enough to shake things up with less than two months to go before the presidential election, when the candidates are neck and neck in the polls.
