You made your debut in 1974 at the age of only 7 years in the Australian cult television show Young Talent Time. What memory do you keep of it?
Tina Arena: A very good memory! The era was not at all the same and I had a lot of fun. At the time, the Australians watched either football or this program on Saturday evening and I was therefore very proud to participate. The young talents were not as much under pressure as now, I do not remember having been abused. Thanks to this program, I learned to dance, to sing, to play comedy and it was very enriching
It has been over 27 years since you created your first links with France. How did you experience your beginnings in our country?
Tina Arena: I must admit that it was not always easy due in particular to the language barrier. I sang Go up Mainly in phonetics! Then, later, I really learned the French little by little.

Have you kept links with French artists?
Tina Arena: Yes like Anggun, who is really a girlfriend and whom I really like. I also really appreciate Patrick Fiori: he is a good man.
15 years ago, after having chained successes, you made the decision to leave France and return to the country where you were born. For what reasons?
Tina Arena: I was at the end of the roller. Everything I was going through was excessive and I needed to find myself and recharge my batteries. On the other hand, I wanted my son Gabriel (19 now), who was born in France, also knows my country, that he was in contact with his two cultures and that he is committed to his own path afterwards. I also wanted to get closer to my parents who were getting older.
Weren’t you no longer in agreement with the teams of your record company?
Tina Arena: I had the impression that I was asked too much, all the time. The energy was no longer the right one and I really need to be. I no longer wanted to be in a hurry like a lemon but quite simply living.
You participated in the Australian version of Dance with stars In 2013 but you said that you did not want to renew this experience. For what ?
Tina Arena: Dance with stars was a great experience in Australia, but the desire to redo it is not there.
You also appeared in Mask Singer In 2023. Did you like to slip into the costume of the carnivorous plant?
Tina Arena: It’s an incredible show! It was very fun to get into the costume of the carnivorous plant but I will not renew the experience.

Are you happy to find your French fans in 2026?
Tina Arena: Ah yes so much! I don’t know how many times I heard: “When are you coming back?” Time has passed quickly but I felt that it was the right time to do it. My French audience has always been very faithful to me.
What relationship do you have with him?
Tina Arena: I always put a certain form of distance with him because my privacy is a private life. I have nothing against artists who communicate a lot on social networks but that does not suit me at all. You have to know how to separate privacy and professional life. I like my job but when I finished my work, everything else is only looking at me.
What is your age relationship?
Tina Arena: I have no problem with the passing years. I find that one becomes wiser as they age. I maintain myself by playing sports, breathing exercises and respecting my body and my mind.
What do you think of surgery and aesthetic medicine?
Tina Arena: It is not my cup of tea but I do not judge those who use it. For me beauty has no age and you are never as beautiful as when you are happy!
You prepare a new album which will be obviously very different from what you have already done. Can you tell us more?
Tina Arena: I prefer to keep the secret at the moment. But it’s a project that I have in mind for a while. I could continue on the same path but I want to get out of my comfort zone. I just want to have fun. Maybe my fans will not adhere but you have to dare! Even if I fail, it does not matter because it is part of life.
You say that you have not always been simple: for what reasons?
Tina Arena: I had to fight a lot to be free and I was sometimes betrayed and disappointed. But, over the years, I learned to forgive and heal my injuries. My freedom is priceless and I will never compromise.
