Along with wine and champagne, beer is one of the French’s favorite drinks. Our country is considered to be particularly fond of partying and, depending on the city, the bill is obviously not always the same when you go out to a bar… So where should you go to have a drink without paying too much Dear ?
A recent study conducted by Top10desCasinos.com has established a ranking of the 10 best cities in France for partying in 2024. According to what criteria? The density in km² of bars, nightclubs and casinos – data adjusted to the size of each city – but also the prices of consumption, taxi fares and even public transport. Thus, the top 3, which gives a score out of 100, is as follows: Villeurbanne (80.12), Lille (80.71) and finally the gold medal for Montpellier (85.19).
But it is one of the ranking criteria that is worth a look. So, by focusing solely on the cost of beer – because 4 out of 5 French people consume beer according to a NielsenIQ study – we discover the city where it really costs the least. First surprise: it is in Boulogne-Billancourt that a beer costs the most with an average price of 7.5o euros! The city of Hauts-de-Seine is ahead of Paris by a hair since in the capital a pint of beer costs on average… 7.49 euros. Fortunately, with over 3000 bars it’s easy to find a place offering a Happy hour cheap.
But to treat yourself to a pint of blonde, white or brunette, head to the town of Saint-Etienne. Here, the average price of a beer is just 3.01 euros. At this price, there is no doubt that we will get a second one in one of the 110 bars in this municipality located to the southwest of its larger, much more expensive neighbor, Lyon. Note that Saint-Denis comes in second position with a pint costing 3.79 euros on average while Limoges completes the podium with 4.30 euros.
