This coloring gives brown hair a breathtaking shiny finish. An expert from Franck Provost explains how to adopt it.
Some hair trends don’t need to go over the top to make an impact. No contrasting highlights, no dramatic highlights — just a color that speaks for itself. This season, brunettes have found their new Holy Grail: a shade that captures the light with every movement, gives body to hair and reveals an almost unreal shine. The kind of result that transforms hair into a real object of desire.
The secret of this trend lies as much in the technique as in the quality of the hair fiber. Applied evenly and accompanied by deep care, it smoothes the fiber and maximizes light reflection. Straight or slightly wavy hair reflects this shine particularly well, while medium to thick hair supports the density of color perfectly. In terms of styling, an impeccable smooth, a clean part or a very controlled soft wavy further enhance this luminous effect.
This is where we discover the mirror effect brown. According to Rémi Billaud, training manager at Franck Provost, “the mirror brown rests on a rich and homogeneous base, chosen to measure according to the complexion – warm, neutral or slightly cool. It allows you to reveal the full depth of a brown without visible streaks or balayage.“It is particularly flattering on faces with even features and brightens fair to matte complexions, providing a subtle and elegant contrast.
Despite its spectacular appearance, this shade has its precautions. On very marked or tired faces, a shade that is too dark or cold can harden the features; in this case, a chocolate or hazelnut reflection softens the look. Very fine or thinning hair may have more difficulty carrying the full density of color, and regrowth requires special attention if a high percentage of gray hair is present.
But once you adopt the routine, the result is undeniable: deep, luminous, healthy-looking brown hair that catches the light with every movement, just like a mirror.
