For decades, Australians have been fascinating. Kirsten Carriol, founder of the Lanolips brand, reveals all the beauty secrets of the country of kangaroos.
Radiant complexion, hydrated skin, tonic silhouette and false hair (well we barely give in the photo), in terms of beauty Australians have no same. Failing to live in the sun and go regularly to the beach as they do, some of their secrets are easy to integrate into our daily life. On the occasion of a meeting, Kirsten Carriol, founder of the Australian brand Lanolips (specialized in lip care), shared some of her beauty tips for us.
Known for their “Less is More” look, the Australians bet on minimalist makeup. “”Most women do not make up their lips, eyes and complexion at the same time. In general, they choose one, eyes or lips, otherwise it is not pretty with the heat“, Explains the expert. The most important thing is to take care of her skin so as not to cover it under a thick foundation. On the program? Sun protection every day to preserve itself from premature skin aging, but also a possible cancer. For its brand, Kirsten Carriol has also designed a lip balm with UV filters.
On the skincare side, there too the watchword is natural: “We really focus on the skin so that it is healthy. This is probably the absolute priority of Australians. I grew up with a very typical and simple care routine.“Small, Kirsten Carriol sees his mother uses only one and the same cream for the whole body, hands and face. A sacred gesture, which inspired the business woman to create for her brand the Everywhere Cream, a lanolin moisturizer that she also applies every day.”I don’t think there is a different product on the face. My mother taught me not to listen to everything he said. You have to use a single cream everywhere, one, very simple and beautiful“, Says Kirsten Carriol. It will be understood, for Australians, two watchwords apply: hydration and a good SPF.
Finally, not surprisingly, sport is an integral part of the Australian routine. Beyond the surfing (as we said at the beginning of the article: we give in the cliché), other activities remain extremely popular on the island: walking, pilates, but also swimming in free water. “”Even in winter, people love to swim in the ocean. They find it invigorating, it makes them feel alive“, Ensures Kirsten Carriol. Indeed, making a few lengths in cold water has many benefits: improvement of the immune system, boost of blood circulation but also metabolism which then burns more calories … The little extra? This sport has antidepressant effects.”In general, we are obsessed with being outside, to enjoy the good weather … It is very Australian to want to be in communion with nature all the time!“”
