While several candidates in active work research currently faces a fierce competition, many permanent contracts tend their arms in this region of France …

Each year, September is a key month on the job market. Online, the phenomenon is relayed by the hashtag #Worktok which already accumulates more than 25,000 publications on Tiktok, a sign of real enthusiasm. But behind the fashion effect, the observation is very concrete: the offers of permanent posts are multiplying during this period, benefiting those who want to relaunch their careers after the summer. According to France, the number of permanent contracts recorded in the first quarter of 2025 increased by 1.9 %. A positive signal, even if access to a stable job remains very uneven from one region to another.

A study by the Jobleads platform compared the number of CDI offers available in April 2025 with that of job seekers in each department. And it turns out that competition varies enormously depending on the territories. In the most difficult areas, such as the Pyrénées-Orientales, there are nearly 39 candidates for each permanent contract. Even in densely populated departments such as Seine-Saint-Denis, the tension is strong with a ratio of more than 32 applicants for a single offer. Pas-de-Calais, Aisne and Haute-Corse also experience a complicated situation, marked by a weakened economy and a seasonality that limits professional stability.

Conversely, some departments display much more advantageous figures. In the Channel for example, just under eight people compete on average each CDI. Loire-Atlantique, Haute-Savoie or Mayenne also have rates that allow you to hope for rapid hiring. These territories benefit from diversified economies, demographic dynamism or even attractiveness linked to quality of life. It is however in another region that the perspectives appear the most favorable. According to Jobleads, the department that hides at the head is that of the Rhône, in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region, with 25,877 CDI offers for 201,660 job seekers, a ratio of 7.79 candidates per post.

This performance is partly explained by the diversity of sectors located in the territory, from the pharmaceutical industry to digital, including research and engineering. The competition remains much more measured there than in most French departments. And the phenomenon is not limited to this only territory: the neighboring departments of Haute-Savoie and Savoy are also in the Top 10, confirming that the whole region is distinguished in 2025 as the most conducive to obtaining a sustainable permanent contract.
