You no longer have time, desire or good tools to maintain your exteriors? Engaging a gardener can be the solution. But how much does it cost? We take stock with a pro.
You have the chance to enjoy a garden, but its maintenance becomes more and more restrictive on a daily basis. You therefore plan to call on a gardener. To find out the prices to be expected and discover some tips for saving money, we asked Marc Lindner advice from the Allojardin.com site.
The hourly price of a gardener varies between 25 and 40 euros for interventions that require the least experience, such as general maintenance: to snatch the weeds, mow the lawn. The time spent depends on the general condition of the garden and the tasks to be performed. Additional fees such as the need to bring specific equipment or even travel costs (from 20 to 40 euros) can inflate this price. For an intervention day, it will therefore be necessary to count between 200 and 300 euros. The Paris region and the PACA region tend to be a more expensive than the national average.
The price to call on a gardener vary considerably between the various missions. For a brushcutting, it will be necessary to provide between 0.3 and 0.8 euros per m². To cut a hedge, we are between 4 and 6 euros per linear meter. Finally, for pruning, it is necessary to provide between 110 and 150 euros for a tree less than 3.5 m high, and between 150 and 200 euros for a higher tree. It is more financially advantageous to engage on an annual maintenance contract. In this case, we reduce the intervention price to 20-35 euros per hour. The gardener follows the life of the garden and intervenes when necessary, depending on plants and specific needs.
State aid are likely to greatly help individuals. It is thus possible to benefit from 50% tax reduction when a gardener is called upon, up to 5000 euros per year. And, as a rule, the gardener moves with his equipment. The latter takes care of the maintenance of green spaces, while the landscaper takes care of the design and creation of green space. Even if a landscaper can also take care of the interview, his main mission is to imagine and design green spaces.
In the same way, a gardener is also able to offer advice on arrangements, thanks to knowledge of plants. Their professions are therefore complementary. Finally, how many quotes should you ask before choosing a professional? Three to five quotes are sufficient to have a good idea of the prices in the region.
