This is the card to consult before going to fill up, to choose the cheapest brand around you and try to save a few precious cents at the pump.

2 euros per liter, or even more: this is now what the majority of French motorists pay at the gas pump. Since the start of the war in the Middle East and in particular the blockade of the Strait of Hormuz, through which 20% of the world’s oil passes, the price of fossil fuels has experienced a spectacular surge. Unleaded and diesel, the most commonly used, saw their prices jump from one day to the next. And it doesn’t seem to be stopping any time soon. So obviously, consumers are all looking to save money. Those who live near the borders with Belgium, Spain or even Switzerland take the opportunity to get supplies at a lower cost. But for others, how do you know which is the cheapest gas station near you?

Of course, one would tend to believe that you just have to walk past to see the prices displayed, but this poses several problems. First of all, you have to travel and therefore… spend fuel. But also, and above all, prices sometimes vary several times during the day: you can pass by in the morning on your way to work, and decide to stop on the way back in the evening to refuel, and the price will have already changed (not always in a good way!). The solution? Look before you go, to save your precious miles. To do this, the government has made available a map of some 9,875 stations present in mainland France and Corsica.

From the smallest towns to large metropolises, all French people can check in real time: the prices and availability of each fuel, whether classic diesel or unleaded 98, but also unleaded 95 or even superethanol E85, are updated several times a day. We also find other practical information, such as the address of the station of course, but also the presence or not of a 24-hour machine for paying with a credit card, as well as other services possibly offered such as a shop, an inflation station or automatic car wash for example. To find the stations near you, simply click or zoom on the map, targeting your region, then gradually reducing the geographic area of your choice.

Its use is intended to be as intuitive as possible: consultation only takes a few seconds, without even having to leave this page. This is a new reflex to adopt which helps avoid unpleasant surprises once you have the pump gun in hand. By comparing the different brands in your sector at a glance, you regain control over your mobility expenses, without additional effort.

With all these details, this map of France therefore appears to be the essential tool to keep aside for your next expeditions in search of gasoline at (relatively) low prices. Because war or not, the question of the cost of fuel remains crucial for a large number of French people, whose purchasing power has continued to suffer from inflation in recent years. Whatever happens, an economy remains an economy.
